Green Street Arts Center has a wide array of opportunities for students in grades 1-12 to explore their creativity and develop practical skills for everyday life during after school hours. Students may enroll in a 4-day track to focus on one area of the arts, or may, with their parents, choose any combination of classes to engage in any number of the five artistic disciplines (Visual, Sound, Movement, Media, Literary) offered at Green Street. Classes are held from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM for grades 1 through 8, and between 6:30 and 7:30 for high school students. From 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM, Monday through Thursday, students may enroll in Green Street Arts Center's unique Academic Enrichment program. Friday Art and Science Program sessions are held from 3:30 to 5:00 PM at Macdonough School. Students may elect to come to Green Street directly from school via public school bus transportation or Wesleyan University transportation, where available, and enjoy a nutritious snack and group arts time with a visual arts teacher or movement arts teacher from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM; a special mentoring program for junior school students during this time is being planned to serve students grades 6 through 8.

The teaching artists, supervisory staff and volunteer corps of Green Street Arts Center's After School Art and Science Program come together to provide a unique atmosphere that parents and children can find nowhere else in the region.  Partnering with community resources to provide the best after school enrichment program in arts and academics, Green Street is able to offer individualized attention and rare learning opportunities for students of all abilities and backgrounds, creating spaces to keep each child safe and inspired as he or she builds a relationship with the arts and utilizes the resources of the program. The program continues to focus on serving Middletown's deserving, yet underserved children and young adults, offering scholarships of up to 100% of tuition costs to ensure all children the opportunity to participate in the program regardless of economic background.

For more information on the After School Art and Science Program, please call Sarah-Jane Ripa, Artistic & Education Coordinator at (860) 685-7860. For questions or concerns about registration or financial aid, please contact Claudia Foerstel, Financial Coordinator and Registrar at (860) 685-7971.
