SECOND ANNUAL GREEN STREET
ARTS FESTIVAL
OFFERS CHILDREN’S CRAFT FAIR & OUTDOOR FUN FOR ALL AGES!
Middletown, CT, June 8, 2006—Middletown’s Green Street Arts Center (51
Green St.) is opening its doors and taking to the streets (or at least the
parking lot) for an indoor/outdoor party celebrating the creativity of its
students and teaching artists—the second annual Green Street Arts
Festival. On Saturday, June 17, from 1pm to 2pm the GSAC will host a
free jewelry–making workshop. From 2:30pm to 4:30pm, the Center’s teaching
artists, and the students of all ages who study with them, will perform and
exhibit work from the past semester—including ballet, salsa, original rap
and an a cappella concert by the NEAT Notes—as well as a Children’s
Craft Fair. At 4pm, Tito Ortiz y Son Borincano join the festivities with
tropical music from Puerto Rico and Latin America.
Everyone is welcome to enjoy music, dancing and live music! For more
information about the festival, arts classes or the Center’s after school
program, call 860-685-7871 or visit www.greenstreetartscenter.org.
GSAC Director Janis Astor del Valle commented,
“The festival is not only a culmination, but a celebration of all the
diligent efforts and wonderful creations by teachers and students at Green
Street over the last semester. I am absolutely thrilled that we have the
opportunity to share their unique gifts and talents with the rest of the
community.”
