The Green Street Arts Center, which
opened in January 2005, is a three-story arts and education
center, founded by Wesleyan University in collaboration with
the City of Middletown and the North End Action Team to
provide an anchor for the revitalization efforts already
underway in the North End. Programming in the former
schoolhouse at 51 Green Street includes a vibrant after
school program and a wide range of affordable classes and
workshops for children and adults in music, dance, visual
arts, theater, sound recording, media arts and creative
writing.
Participation at Green Street is open to
everyone; tuition assistance is available. To receive more
information about the Green Street Arts Center, call

Oddfellows Playhouse is Connecticut's
oldest and largest year-round youth theater, annually
serving over 1,000 young people, ages 2-20. Now in its 32nd
season, Oddfellows offers a multicultural theater program
designed to include children from all backgrounds.
Throughout its history, the organization has remained
committed to artistic excellence and social change. Although
some students pursue a career in the theater, Oddfellows
does not attempt to be a pre-professional school. The
Playhouse is equally concerned with making a positive
difference in the lives of young people, nurturing their
skills in a supportive, noncompetitive environment. A
generous financial aid policy makes scholarships available
to any child who needs it. Oddfellows is located at 128
Washington Street, Middletown. For more information, call
(860) 347-6143 or visit our website at www.oddfellows.org.
